Stranger of Paradise : Final Fantasy Origin est un jeu de rôle d’action dans lequel les joueurs explorent des environnements et combattent des monstres de la série Final Fantasy. Les combats se déroulent en temps réel, Jack pouvant basculer entre deux tâches assignées et utiliser des attaques physiques et magiques. Une fois que la « jauge de rupture » d’un ennemi est épuisée, Jack peut effectuer un coup de finition qui cristallise l’ennemi, permettant à Jack de les récolter et de restaurer une partie de son compteur magique.
